Strange, but sometimes I really have to try and remind myself that I actually live on an island.
I go to the beach occasionally, maybe 2-3 times a month (CRAZY! I live on an island and I’m not at the beach like every day?!).
Not all beaches are hospitable, and the weather here is not always inviting.
Would it be different if I lived in a community like Sandy Point, just outside Langley?
Would I wave ‘Hello’ to my neighbors as I strolled down the beach with my dog?
Probably not, but it’s a nice thought.
As it is, I like my life in the woods.
With family.

I lived on Camano Island for three years and loved exactly the things you have described…. the beach walks, the waving at neighbors and even General passers-by ( kind of like ‘the boaters wave’!!!), the soaring eagles and croaking frogs. It was paradise and I truly wanted to spend the rest of my life there. Life handed me another plan and I moved away five years ago…but I often scroll through my photos taken on the island to salve my longing. I enjoyed your post and images very much!

Thank you so much for your comment…I guessed that I wasn’t alone, but it’s truly nice to hear from someone else! At this moment there are rain squalls moving in from the Salish Sea, periodically pinging my roof, and while I was thinking of taking my nephews to the arcade tomorrow, now I’m thinking I’ll drag them to the beach, regardless of the weather (though kicking and screaming, or more likely silently reproachful, I know they’ll have a blast once we’re there).
